47 Westgate is a first floor two bedroomed apartment, sleeping four, situated in a Grade B listed Victorian block close to North Berwick's West Bay. The 5 star quality rating by Visit Scotland reflects the high quality furnishings, fittings and finishing throughout the apartment.

The bright living room benefits from a traditional bay window looking out over Westgate with a view towards the harbour and the starter's hut. There are two comfortable sofas, oak side tables and tub chairs in the bay window. A gas fire adds a cosy touch on cooler evenings. The hallway also has a small office/reading area with unlimited wi-fi availability.

There are two double bedrooms. The main bedroom has a "superking" bed which can be divided into two singles if requested. There is an ensuite bath/shower room. The second bedroom has twin beds, made from recyled timber from the church pews of the Abbey Church in North Berwick. There is a second shower room with toilet and basin. Both bedrooms are well equipped with ample storage space. The beds are exceptionally comfortable with 400 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and high quality anti-allergenic duvets and pillows. Bath sheets and hand towels are also provided.

The dining area (seating 6) adjoins the modern kitchen with breakfast bar. It is very well equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave as well as a good selection of crockery, glasses, saucepans and kitchen utensils. The large breakfast bar sits three and is a great space for chatting to friends while getting on with the cooking. In addition there is a utility room which contains the freezer, washing machine and tumbler dryer as well as an extra sink for dirtier jobs and a traditional pulley and drying rack for wet golfing, walking or sailing gear. The boiler is also in this room making it an excellent drying space!

The apartment is centrally heated throughout with original pine flooring and natural fibre rugs. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. There is a shared back garden which our guests are very welcome to use. It is very sheltered and lovely to sit out in, also ideal for drying washing in the fresh North Berwick air! On street parking is available to the front.

Accessibility:

47 Westgate is a first floor apartment accessed by an easy stair with hand rail. Once in the apartment everything is on the same level making access very easy. There is a step in shower for those who may find bathing more difficult, and non slip shower mats are provided.

For those who may not wish to walk far, the apartment is very conveniently positioned on the end of the High Street. It is only two or three minutes walk to shops, restaurants and bars. The beach is about 100 metres away and the railway station, with regular trains to Edinburgh, is a short 5 minute walk.
