Welcome to 47 Westgate, North Berwick

Coronavirus update

It has been a very strange summer! But as things open up again and I hope that some guests will be able to enjoy a holiday at 47 Westgate before the year is over. I have been up to North Berwick and am pleased to say that  47 Westgate has achieved the “We’re Good To Go” Visit Britain accreditation.

My main aim is to ensure my guests, cleaner and other residents in no. 47 are safe and the relevant Government guidelines are followed explicitly!  I have already completed a couple of courses and I'm pleased to say that my cleaner has completed the “Landlord’s Little Helper” course which has been very informative and helpful.

As of October 2020 guidance from the Scottish Government states that only one household can be stay in self-catering accommodation. Therefore there can be no sharing of accommodation with friends or extended family. This is very disappointing news but I'm afraid it is a legal requirement. This note will be updated when/if the guidance changes.

For my regular guests there inevitably will be some changes. You can find these on the link below, but I will also e mail these to you before your visit.

47 Westgate is a 2 bedroom apartment which sleeps 4. It is one of the very few apartments in North Berwick awarded 5 stars by Visit Scotland and is a great place for a holiday or short break. It will appeal to golfers, sailors, birdwatchers and holiday makers who just like being by the seaside. It is conveniently located at the end of North Berwick High Street and within 5 minutes' walk of the train station, the beach, the North Berwick golf course and the harbour. 

The master bedroom has a super-king bed (or twin if preferred) with ensuite bath and shower, and there is a twin bedded room. There is a separate shower room with toilet and basin. All linen and towels are provided.

The living room with its high ceiling and large bay window has views towards the harbour and the Sailng Club starter's hut. There is a gas fire for cooler evenings, and a flat screen TV and DVD player with a good selection of DVDs, games and books. Unlimited wi-fi is available.

The modern kitchen/dining room is well designed and includes everything you need for your stay. It's a great space for entertaining; your friends can sit at the breakfast bar with a glass of wine while you get on with the cooking, or why not just nip along the High Street and collect a takeaway or go to one of the many excellent restaurants. The adjoining utility room has a freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and a traditional pulley for hanging up wet clothes.

Don't worry about packing your car with all those self-catering basics. We provide tea, coffee, sugar as well as a full range of cleaning equipment and a complimentary bottle of wine and toiletries from the Scottish Fine Soap Company.

Please note this is a no smoking apartment and we do not accept pets.
